Meet your new training partner: Brisbane App

The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane is just around the corner, and the Brisbane App is here to be that motivating friend pushing you further and helping you get race ready.

The app the perfect combination of customisation and exploration letting you plan running routes featuring the city’s best vistas, pop into free exercise classes to boost your training results, or simply find the healthiest eats near your running route.

Mix it up

Adding diversity to your training regime can be a game changer, and Brisbane City Council has a range of free and low-cost classes and activities to help. Race to the Brisbane App to find your closest boxing and gym class or feel the benefits of stretching with a free Pilates class. Having a workout buddy can be a great motivator so bring a friend along.

Brisbane App also allows you to find Council facilities you can use to mix your training up like on the 22 Council swimming pools or outdoor gyms at 170 parks across the city. There’s something for everyone on the Brisbane App.

Fuel up the right way

Getting the right fuel can make all the difference in training and on race day. All the training in the lead up to the big race, is likely going to lead to your burning more calories than before, which means replenishing them. Once you’re done with your morning training, head to Bangin Beans Café in Sandgate for a protein packed breakfast or use the Brisbane App to find the perfect post training fuel up.

Runs with a view

We’re a city with plenty of great views to spur you on. Whether it’s taking in the city scape while running below the cliffs at Kangaroo Point or enjoying one of the city’s most spectacular sunrises as your run along the water in Sandgate, the Brisbane App will help you plan a run with a view.

Recovery is important as well, and you can find the perfect recovery day activity on the app.

The Brisbane App is available for download from the Apple Store and Google Play.
