For the first time, Transurban is gearing up to host the iconic Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane fun run command centre on 15 October from its newly completed state-of-the-art traffic control room, located at Kedron on Brisbane’s northside.
On event day, instead of cars and trucks, the control room and its experienced operators will have eyes on up to 30,000 Bridge to Brisbane event participants, as they run, walk or roll the 10km or 4.5km course, raising money for charities across South East Queensland.
Representatives from the event organisers, Queensland emergency services, Brisbane Metropolitan Traffic Management Centre and traffic control will all converge at the control room on event day to ensure the fun run takes place safely and with minimal impact to motorists and the surrounding traffic network.
With 1,500 cameras positioned across its road network and 24 x 55 inch screens on the video wall, Transurban’s control room is an ideal location to coordinate the event from and ensure it runs smoothly.
