The 30th anniversary of the Transurban Bridge to Brisbane presented by Brooks continues to gather momentum, with over 30,000 participants now registered more than a month before race day.

Having surpassed the 25,000-entry mark just two weeks ago, registrations continue to accelerate as Queensland’s largest fun run remains on track to welcome 40,000 participants on Sunday, 13 September.

To be delivered by Events Management Queensland (EMQ) for the first time, the milestone 30th edition will build on decades of community participation as the iconic event joins EMQ”s stable of globally recognised events that collectively generate more than $120 million in annual economic impact for Queensland.

Since its inception in 1997, Bridge to Brisbane has welcomed more than 700,000 participants, raised more than $14 million for charity and become one of Queensland’s most recognisable and enduring mass participation events.

Events Management Queensland CEO Ben Mannion said the latest milestone demonstrated the excitement surrounding this year’s historic event.

“Reaching 30,000 entries with more than a month still to go is a fantastic achievement and reinforces the incredible momentum we’re seeing ahead of this year’s 30th anniversary,” Mr Mannion said.

“The response from the community has been outstanding and we’re well on track to welcome 40,000 participants in September.

“Our focus has always been to build on the incredible foundations established over the past three decades while preserving the unique community spirit that has made Bridge to Brisbane such a beloved event.

“Whether participants are chasing a personal best, walking with family and friends or fundraising for a cause close to their heart, Bridge to Brisbane continues to be an event that brings Queenslanders together like few others.”

With registrations continuing to climb, organisers are encouraging anyone planning to take part to secure their place early ahead of what is shaping as the biggest Bridge to Brisbane in the event’s history.

Participants will once again experience the unique opportunity to walk or run across Brisbane’s iconic Gateway Bridge before finishing at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
