Love your run, love your local

As Australia’s lifestyle capital, Brisbane has some of the best scenic running routes in the country.
There’s time for one more run before race day, so why not take in Brisbane’s city centre, leafy parklands, foreshore promenades and vibrant hubs for your final training session.
Lace up your shoes and get running!
New Farm to Ascot
Catch a CityCat or bus to the beautiful New Farm Park. From there, hug the river towards the Breakfast Creek / Yowoggera Bridge and the Lores Bonney Riverwalk for the best riverside scenery before heading back towards New Farm.
Whites Hill wilderness
For a bush escape without a long drive, head to Whites Hill Reserve at Camp Hill. With so much forest and open parklands, this is a local favourite for short trail runs, hill sprints and a beautiful lookout with city views.
Bayside refresh
For a run with a view, breeze your way for about 5 kilometres along the Wynnum, Manly and Lota foreshore. Start at Fig Tree Point Park in Lota and then head towards Breakwater Park in Wynnum. If you have some more time, continue up to the Wynnum North Conservation Site and the mangrove boardwalk for more great views.
Mt Ommaney riverside run
Warm up on the outdoor gym equipment at Rocks Riverside Park in Seventeen Mile Rocks before your riverside run. This route takes in the Centenary Highway Bikeway and the quiet suburban streets along the river to Mt Ommaney Bushland Reserve, passing through Jindalee Park and Jindalee Boat Ramp Park along the way, ending at Lorikeet Park.
Brisbane City Council has even more local options for your next outdoor run. Visit brisbane.qld.gov.au and search “˜parks’ to create your own route or check out our top picks for running routes in Brisbane.
