Event Info

When is the event?

The Transurban Bridge to Brisbane is on Sunday 13 September, 2026.

What's included in my entry?

Your entry fee includes:

  • An official Transurban Bridge to Brisbane Event T-Shirt
  • Your race number and timing chip
  • A finishers’ medal and downloadable certificate
  • Public transport to and from the race
  • The opportunity to race on one of Brisbane’s most unique courses

What are the start zones?

10KM START ZONES

  • Sporting Wheelies Qualification Required
  • Elite Male sub 35:00min / Female sub 40:00min
  • Priority Male sub 40:00min / Female sub 45:00min
  • Fast Runners sub 50:00min
  • Runners under 60min
  • Runners under 1hr:10min
  • Joggers under 1hr:30min
  • Walkers 1hr:30min +

5KM START ZONES

  • Elite sub 20:00min
  • Fast Runners sub 25:00min
  • Runners sub 30:00min
  • Joggers sub 45:00min
  • Walkers 45:00min +

ELITE START ZONES

  • For entry into the elite start zones, entrants will be asked to provide a race result of an equivalent distance to the event you are entering from the past two years. The race result must be within the timeframe of the zone you are entering.
Can I change my Start Zone or Distance?

Yes, you will be able to change your start zone or distance if required.

For those choosing to have their race number posted, no changes can be made online once the postage deadline has passed, entrants would be required to bring their race number to the check-in centre to update.

When do entries close?

Entries close: Saturday 12 September 2026, 2:00pm (AEST) unless sold out prior.

Please note that you will be required to collect your race number from the race office if entering after Sunday 19 July 2026, please allow time to collect your race number by 2:00pm.

Will my Race Kit be posted?
If you entered before the postage cut off date of Sunday 19 July 2026 and selected the postage option in the registration process, your race number will be sent to the valid Australian address you provided on your entry. International postage is not available.
If you did not select the postage option in your entry, you will need to collect your Race Kit from the Race Office during opening hours.
Will I receive a time?

Yes, your entry includes a race number with a disposable timing chip attached. You will be able to view your time online after the event or you can choose to have your time sent to you via SMS when you register for an additional cost.

Do you offer refunds?

There are no refunds payable unless expressly permitted by law.

If you are registered for the 10km event and can no longer participate in that distance, you are able to change your entry to compete in the 5km race. Race changes can be completed via the Update my Entry portal.

If you are no longer able to participate in the event at all, you can transfer your entry to another person, via the Update my Entry portal.

How do I update my registration details?

Once registrations have opened you will be able to update your entry via the Update my Entry Portal, link and login details provided on your confirmation email.

Is there baggage drop?

No, we do not offer a baggage drop service for this event.

Visit our Race Office

If you opted to collect your kit in-person, or entered after the postage cut off date, our Race Office will be open at John Reid Pavilion Corner of Gregory Terrace and Alexandria St, during the following times:

Thursday 10 September, 2026 – 8:00am to 6:00pm

Friday 11 September, 2026 – 8:00am to 6:00pm

Saturday 12 September, 2026 – 8:00am to 2:00pm

Street parking is available on Gregory Terrace and Alexandria Street (please ensure you abide by parking signs) and there is a multilevel carpark accessible via Machinery or Alexandria Streets right next to the John Reid Pavilion. 

Can’t make it to the office in the above times? You can send someone else with your confirmation certificate to collect on your behalf. Please note there is no race kit collection on race day.

Where is the Start Line?

The 10km Start Line is located at the bottom of the Gateway Bridge, Murarrie

The 5km Start Line is located at Hercules Park, Kingsford Smith Drive

Where is the Finish Line?

The finish line is located in the Showbag Pavilion via Gate 5, O’Connell Terrace, RNA Showgrounds, Bowen Hills

Race Day

Can I bring my pet?

No, for health and safety reasons pets are not allowed on course. Of course, registered guide dogs are always welcome.

Can I listen to music?

We recommend you don’t, as you will need to be able to hear and follow instructions of event personnel and fellow runners.

Can I swap my shirt size?
Yes, you will be able swap your event t-shirt to another size as long as it is still in new condition.
More details to be provided once t-shirts have been issued.
Can I push a pram/stroller?

Yes definitely, prams and strollers are allowed. Children in prams are free but they will not receive a Race Kit or finishers t-shirt. Please note the prams are required to start at the back of their chosen start zone.

Will there by transport available to and from the event?

Yes, all participants receive FREE public transport on event day until 3pm. All you need to do is show your official race number on Brisbane Transport buses and QLD Rail Trains. Please note, due to capacity levels City Cat and Ferry services will not be included in the free public transport.

Can I ride my skateboard/rollerblades/scooter/bike?

No, due to health and safety guidelines, these method of transport are banned from the event.

What should I do if I feel unwell on course?

If you are unable to continue at any point along the course, you should seek assistance from a race marshal who will get help for you as soon as possible. Do not continue if you feel unwell.

What happens if I have lost a child/adult?

Any lost people will be directed to the Information Tent at the Finish Village. We recommend you decide on a meeting spot with your group before the event starts. Parents should write your contact details on the back of your child’s race number to make sure that you can be easily contacted if they are lost.

What if I come across another participant who needs medical assistance?

If you come across another participant who needs medical assistance, please make note of your location and alert your nearest marshal or call our medical command centre or call 000.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes and sensible shoes for running/walking. Be aware that some fabrics may cause chafing or blisters. An old jumper and/or t-shirt that you are happy to give to charity may be worn for warmth prior to warm up and left at the start line. Otherwise you can store this in your car or with a friend/family member prior to the start of the race if you do not wish to dispose of any clothing. Please note that a baggage drop service will not be available. Please ensure you make alternative arrangements.

Accessibility

Can I participate in a racing wheelchair?

Racing wheelchair entrants are invited to compete in the Wheelchair 10km race. You must be 12 years or older for the Wheelchair 10km category.

No hand cycles are permitted. The 2026 Transurban Bridge to Brisbane is conducted under Athletics Australia,”¯World Para Athletics and World Athletics rules which clearly state that the Wheelchair 10km is an athletics event and only a recognised racing wheelchair is permitted. No mechanical gears are permitted on the chair.

Can I participate in a day wheelchair?

Day wheelchairs may compete in either the 10km race or the 5km race (please note the Wheelchair 10km race is for racing wheelchair competitors only). For the safety of yourself and others, we recommend affixing a flag to your wheelchair and starting from the walker zone at the back of the starting field. However, if you are an experienced participant you may elect to start in the start zone based on your anticipated finish time.“¯Hand cycles are not permitted.

Companion Cards

If you have a companion card and require a support worker to complete the event with you, please complete the Companion Form here. Please include a copy of your companion card and your entry confirmation number with the form. We will provide an entry link for your support worker’s free entry. It is essential that everyone who will be on course is registered so we can provide a safe and enjoyable event for everybody.

Start line access

We encourage everyone to use the free public transport where possible. If you need to be dropped off in a private vehicle or a rideshare the best drop off point for the 10km is at Paringa Road , Murarrie.

This is a drop off point only, there is no parking at the 10km start line.

For the 5km event participants can be dropped off at MacArthur Avenue, Hamilton.
